Khadirarishta is one of the Ayurvedic Medicine, which is popular to treat bacterial infections. It is prepared by using the age old technique of Fermentation. The results are usually observed in the blood, Intestine and the skin of a person. It is extremely beneficial for skin diseases, Intestinal worms, Urticaria, Gout, Wounds, Tumors, Herpes and Blood disorders. The medicine is analyzed under the Arista category of Ayurveda. Whereas the Dosha effect is on VATA, AMA and Kapha effects are on a person’s body.

Benefits/Uses of the medicine

AMA formulation helps to block the small microchannels of our body which results in the formation of plague in the blood vessels of our body. This also results in the poor supply of nutrition to the Skin tissues. The results are pretty visible on our skin. Also, the main impact of AMA deals with any sort of skin disease and also reduces itching in any type of skin disease.

Acne and Pimples

Khadirarishta is extremely effective in treating acne, especially the ones who carry dead skin cells in the form of cyst and lumps. It is helpful to eliminate such problems

It stops the bacterial growth in the form of acne and enhances the process of healing. The regular use of the medicine helps to purify our blood and also reduce the toxins produced in the process. The bacterial growth is inhibited completely, which eventually results in prevention of acne. The oil production due imbalance in hormones is stopped. The contents of the medicine like Babchi and Devdaru are released throughout the skin and thus prevents clogging of our pores

Dosage and Administration

For children, it is 5 to 10 ml

For adults, it is 10 to 20 ml

For geriatric age group, 10 to 20 ml is recommended

However, the maximum possible dosage is 60 ml

The medicine can be consumed with equal proportion of water

It must be had twice after every meal

Side effects of Khadirarishta

Reported side effects after consuming Khadirarishta are Heart Burn and Burning sensation. It is when water is not diluted with water while consuming.

Precaution of Khadirarishta

1. Must not be consumed by children, below the age of five

2. Pregnant women must not have this medicine

3. Lactating mothers need to consult doctors

Manufacture of Khadirarishta

1. The first group of herbs is taken and boiled with a specific quantity of water

2. After boiling it for a brief time, the mixture is reduced to only a quarter part and kashaya is obtained

3. It is then filtered and some sugar is added

4. It is mixed well and again, it is filtered

5. The rest of the contents are added to the mixture

6. The mixture is mixed well and kept aside in an airtight jar or container,

7. The mixture is kept in a room for a month, so the fermentation process takes place.

Expiry Date

10 years, but it is better to check the container itself.

In case the bottle is opened for use, it is better to use it in 2 months.
